We’re sure it is every homeowner’s dream to live mortgage free, and whilst it may not be easy, it can be done. Sarah Beeny follows those in search of a life with little financial commitment as they think outside the box to design their homes with professional designers and architects. From boats to lorry containers, it is fascinating to see the living spaces come to life, and learn a more about what it costs to live there (spoiler alert: not much!).

Think Real Housewives meets property; a classic drama-filled series following the lives of glamorous realtors in Los Angeles, California. The multi-million-dollar homes up for sale on the West Coast are truly unbelievable, and even better if you have the spare cash for it! We can dream, right? Set aside plenty of time for this one as you will be hooked.

Homeowners showcase their eccentric living spaces in seemingly ‘normal’ homes. From an indoor aquarium to a roller coaster in the back garden, this show celebrates the weird and wonderful. Even if conventional living is more your cup of tea, it is still interesting to see how other people transform and live within their own abodes.
The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes
Presented by Caroline Quentin and Piers Taylor, this series really is what it says on the tin. The presenters take us on a tour of the most fabulous homes, and there are some real jaw dropping properties. With homes situated all over the world in Portugal, Norway and Japan to name just a few, you can truly immerse yourself in what it would be like not only to live in a different country but to reside in an extraordinary home.
Tidying Up with Marie Kondo
This series is a slightly different branch of interiors to those previously mentioned, but satisfying nonetheless. Kondo encourages homeowners to get rid of any items within their household that no longer bring them joy (disclaimer – this does not include husbands or wives). Once the clutter has been cleared, Kondo assists with how to store items such as clothes, electronic gadgets and toys. One to watch if you love a before and after.
